Over the past 25 years, Capt. Jim has owned, crewed and fished on many different types of fishing vessels. Through this experience he has learned the advantages and disadvantages of each. He has discovered (sometimes the hard way!) which boats fish well and can stand up to the punishing effects of fishing in the Northeast. He knows that the keys to a successful charter are safety, affordability, and lots of fishing action. As a result, he has selected the following boats that combine the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Inshore Charters -20′ Boston Whaler Outrage center console powered by Four-Stroke 140hp Suzuki. The Outrage is known for its rugged versatility. It has a very shallow draft, allowing it to fish the flats. At the same time, its unsinkable construction is built to make passengers feel comfortable and safe in all weather conditions. It’s also fast and economical, topping out at 40 mph. The boat can make it to the Fire Island Inlet from Babylon in 20-25 minutes. It is equipped with all the necessary safety equipment and electronics. The Outrage hull combined with the four-stroke engine is also highly fuel efficient; therefore, those savings can be passed on to the customer.
Offshore and Inshore – 35′ Duffy Downeast.
The 35′ Duffy is well suited for off-shore fishing. Whether you are fishing inshore or overnight in the canyon, the Duffy has all the amenities to make your trip comfortable and safe. She is equipped with sophisticated electronics and safety equipment including an EPIRB and life raft. The Duffy has enough fuel capacity and speed for day and multiday trips to the Canyons. She has a comfortable cabin including an enclosed head, galley, microwave, air conditioning, heat, and bunks. Her cockpit is huge which allows for the entire charter to fish unimpeaded. We use Shimano and Penn International rods and reels and the highest quality lures and bait.
